Finokalia (Φινοκαλιά) Lasithi
Finokalias is a settlement of the law of Lassithi. Administratively it belongs to the Municipality of Agios Nikolaos, in the province of Merambello. It is 32 km away from Naples.
The name of the settlement comes from the word "finokala", as the broom is called in eastern Crete. Its root is the Byzantine word "to finokalin" and "finokalo" which means sweep, wipe. [1]
