Historical data
During the Venetian occupation it was the largest village of Pediados. In 1583 it is mentioned in Kastrofylakas with 939 inhabitants and with the name Embaro. In 1301 it is mentioned in a contract and in a document of 1307 we find the village of Lombari, which was a manor of Andreas Kornaros. Kornaros was forced to abandon it due to the war and was probably Embaros.
At the beginning of the 17th century, Emparos was the manor of the poet of the "Fortunatos", Marcantonio Foscollo, and was given by him as a dowry to his daughter, Diana, in 1635.
