Ampelia (Αμπέλια) Trikala
Ampelia is a village in the local community of Kleinos, the municipal unit (former municipality) of Kleinovo, the municipality of Meteora, the regional unit (former prefecture) of Trikala, in the region of Thessaly, according to the Kallikratis program, as well as the changes after this program.[2][3]. Before the Kapodistrias plan and the Kallikratis program, it belonged to the Kalampaka district of the Trikala prefecture, in the geographical department of Thessaly.[4][5]
Until 1955, the settlement was called Karoutia (ta).[3][4]
Geography
Ampelia is a semi-mountainous village in the west-central part of the Trikala prefecture. They are located west of Kalampaka, on the eastern slopes of the peak "Tsoliasovo" ("Plagia", 1,244 m.) of southern Pindos and on the west bank of the Kleinovitikos River, on the provincial road Pertoulio-Mourganis and at an average elevation of 390. The village is approximately 37 km. NW of Trikala (via Kastraki).[4][5][6][7]

Administrative changes until "Kallikratis"
The settlement was recognized in 1928 as Karoutia and was annexed to the community of Kleinovo in the prefecture of Trikala. In 1955 it was renamed to Ambelia. With the Government Gazette 244A - 04/12/1997 it was detached from the community of Kleinovo and annexed to the municipality of Kleinovo. With the Government Gazette 87A - 07/06/2010, it was detached from the municipality of Kleinovo and annexed to the municipality of Kalambaka, which in 2018 was renamed the municipality of Meteora.[3][11]
General information
The inhabitants of the village are engaged in agricultural, logging and livestock farming and previously spoke the Vlach dialect. They mainly cultivate clover, corn, grain and vineyards, while there is a high school in the village. In October 2021, the bad weather "Balos" caused damage to crops, due to the overflow of the Kleinovitikos River.[12]
