Alonia (Αλώνια) Samothraki

Alonia is a settlement of Samothrace. It is a rural village which is surrounded by nature, and one of the most traditional and untouched by tourism settlements of the island. It is 2.5 km south of Chora and according to the 2011 census had a population of 291 inhabitants. [1]

Very close to Alonia is the camp of Samothrace, while the area around the village hosts the Monastery of Agios Athanasios of Alonia, which is part of the Monastery of Iviron of Mount Athos. [2]
