The village has a panoramic view to the west of the Ionian Sea and the rocky islet of Gravia, to the northwest of the Diapontia islands (Mathraki and Othonoi) and to the southeast of the bay of Agios Georgios. It is a well-known tourist destination with old mansions, colorful houses and stone cobbled streets (cantons). The parish church of the village is Agios Ioannis o Lampataris which was built in 1636 and celebrates on June 24 [3]. To the southwest, about a 20-minute walk away, is the double beach "Porto Timoni", which are actually two separated by a narrow strip of land and which has been awarded among the best in Europe. The western one called "Limni" has blue waters, while the eastern one in the bay of Agios Georgios has darker waters. On the way from the village to "Porto Timoni" there are ruins of medieval fortifications that protected it from pirate raids [5]. After the double beach and towards the end of the cape, Akra Arilla in antiquity - "Murgi's Head" for the locals, there is the chapel of Agios Stylianos in a cave [6]. A Neolithic settlement of the 2nd millennium BC has been discovered in the area [1] while findings are exhibited in the Archaeological Museum of Corfu [7] [8].
