Achladitsa (Αχλαδίτσα) Argolida
Dardiza (or Achladitsa) belongs to the Municipal Department of Ermioni of the Municipality of Ermioni and is 3 km from Ermioni.
Achladitsa has many small beaches such as Porto Alepou or Krothi, Poupoulou Akti, Limanakia and the Mines, with the most important being the beach of Dardiza which is one of the largest, the cleanest, despite these, not organized by the Municipality Hermione. It is surrounded by the hills Krothi, Didymoi Lofoi, Mavrovouni or Karakassi and Alatovouni or Alasoros while in the middle of the bay of Dardiza is the rocky islet of Helononisi. Within the gulf of Dardiza, due to the seismic past of the area, various coves have been formed, such as the Mines, Iremia, Helononisi, Medusa, Navagio and Dardiza.
Before the creation of the holiday settlement, Dardiza was inhabited by workers, miners of the mines of Dardiza, in the area there are still the facilities of the old Mines. The ramp that loaded the cargo ships with the materials of the subsoil is an important monument of the settlement (the facilities were built by the company Bodosaki during the 1950s and 1960s). Other great buildings of the settlement are Aspros Molos, built by a noble family as a benefit to the fishermen of Ermioni and the Vlach church of Panagia, while there are two churches of Agios Charalambos and Agios Nikolaos (privately owned). At the bottom of the sea are scattered antiquities, remnants of people who tried in earlier times to take advantage of the rich ore of the area. The area is mentioned by Strabo and Pausanias, but without many details.
For the protection of the natural environment, the Landscaping Association "DARDIZA" and the Landscaping Association Environmental Protection "ACHLADITSA" have taken action. The "DARDIZA" club has also bequeathed the institution of swimming competitions that take place on the beach of Dardiza every summer in August. In the settlement ecological and folklore action has been undertaken by both the citizens and the voluntary group "ANTYRRYPOS" [1] [dead link] which acts in favor of nature in collaboration many times with other ecological organizations.
