English: Marsyas playing a pair of pipes. Athena and Apollo stand to the right, reminding the legends of the invention of the pipe (Athena) and the musical contest lost by the satyr (Apollo). Athenian red-figured column-krater, ca. 410–400 BC.
Français : Marsyas jouant de la flute double. Athéna et Apollon se tiennent à droite, rappelant les légendes de l'invention de la flute (Athéna) et du concours musical où le satyre fut écorché (Apollon). Cratère à colonnes athénien à figures rouges du Peintre de Suessula, vers 410-400 av. J.-C.
