Even if initially there was an Egyptian influence, Greek Art evolved differently. The main reason is that sculptures were used differently in the Egyptian and Greek society. In Egypt sculptures were used for various religious or "political" reasons.This was also a reason that it fixed by rules and thus remained static. As soon as the Greeks learned some techniques for producing the sculptures they developed these further to approch the perfect body. In around 2 centuries they were able to produce anatomically perfect sculptures. After the idealistic forms sculptors in the Hellenistic period were interested in realistic and less idealized anatomies such as of old men and women. The sculptors were more interested in showing a particular moment and emotions than a static idealized picture earlier.
