HI´PPICON (ἱππικόν, sc. στάδιον), a Greek measure of distance, equal to four stadia. According to Plutarch, it was mentioned in the laws of Solon (Plut. Sol. 23). Hesychius also mentions it under the name of ἵππειος δρόμος. (Comp. HIPPODROMUS; STADIUM.)
