Stephanos Christopoulos
Stephanos Christopoulos (Στέφανος Χρηστόπουλος) was a Greek wrestler from Patras. He competed at the 1896 Summer Olympics in Athens.
He was a fisherman, his colleagues prayed during the Olympic Games of 1896 that he should win.
Christopoulos defeated Momcsilló Tapavicza of Hungary in the first bout of the wrestling competition, matching the Hungarian in skill and wearing the other wrestler down until Tapavicza conceded the match. In the semifinal, Christopoulos faced fellow Greek Georgios Tsitas. The result of that match was an injured shoulder and a loss for Christopoulos when Tsitas threw him. He finished in third.
