Paralus (Πάραλος). The younger of the two legitimate sons of Pericles. He and his brother Xanthippus died in the great plague which afflicted Athens 429 BC. The Athenians gave each brother the name of βλιττομάμμας or “booby.” See Plutarch, Pericles, 24, 36.
