Nikos Tsiforos (Greek: Νίκος Τσιφόρος, 1912 – 6 August 1970) was a Greek screenwriter and film director. He wrote 64 films between 1948 and 1970. He also directed 17 films between 1948 and 1961.
Biography
He was born in Alexandria, Egypt in 1912. Two years later, his family was resettled alone in Athens. When he was eleven, Nikos Tsiforos began to educate furiously with writing, he also wrote his first play in 1938 in a summer theatre in Freattyda. His first try successed but Nikos did not disapproved. From there he took the degree at law, worked for the two years at the Election Council and later resigned for boating in ships. He continued to change in 1939, but he continued to write in films in different writings. His first big success was in 1944 by the companies of Dimitris Horn and Mairi Aroni elevated himself into the Akropol Theatre, his theatrical work I pinakothiki ton ilithion. Four years later, he made a periodical in 1948 and 1949 and did his first film in which renamed with the title Teleftea apostoli, even as a director and a writer.
In his later years, he wrote in different newspapers including Fileleftheros, Vima and Eleftheros Kosmos and in periodicals Trust, Romantso, Tahidromos (The Post) and Panthoeon where he wrote over 40 theatrical works and over 80 plays. One of these wrote only by himself and otherwise as he worked mainly with Polyvios Vassiliadis (in which he ran one of the most important twins of theatrical works).
Tsiforos died on August 6, 1970.
