Nicomachides , an Athenian, whom Xenophon introduces in the Memorabilia (iii. 4), as not a little dissatisfied at the election of one Antisthenes to be general in preference to himself, and also as somewhat puzzled by the attempt of Socrates to show that a good house-keeper possesses the main qualifications for a military commander.
