Lydiadas of Megalopolis († 227 BC) was a Greek politician and general. Since 242 BC he was a tyrant of Megalopolis., a city in Peloponnese. According to Polybius and Plutarch he agreed to give his power as a tyrant for the position of a leader (Strategos) of the Achaean League. Megalopolis joined the Achaean League. Together with Aratus of Sicyon Lydiadas was a leader of the Achaean League which was involved in military operations against the Macedonian King Demetrius II. who died 229 BC. Lydiadas died in the 227 BC Battle of Laodicea against the Spartan King Cleomenes III.
