George Kollias is a Greek heavy metal drummer currently residing in the USA. Currently working for the American death metal band Nile, Kollias is a drummer of considerable talent and skill, his trademarks being fast double-bass sequences, complex drum patterns with stylistiscal influences from jazz, and very intense blast beats. His "jazzy" style of playing can be traced back to the time of his education by the Greek jazz drummer Yannis Stavropoulos.
Kollias' first release with Nile was Annihilation Of The Wicked, their newest album at the time of this writing, which was released in 2005 through Relapse Records. Before that, he played drums in the melodic death metal band Nightfall and the brutal death metal band Sickening Horror.
