Derdas was chief of Elimaea (aka Elymiotis) during the time of Philip II of Macedon. His daughter Phila married Philip. He had two sons Derdas and Machatas. Machatas was father of Machatas, Harpalus and Philip of Elimaea, who became Satrap of India.
In 380, Derdas and King Amyntas of Macedon supported the Spartan army led by Teleutias against the Olynthian confederacy of Chalcidian states.
