Andreas Kraniotakes (born 10 December 1981 in Munich) is a German mixed martial artist. He competes in the Heavyweight division in various European Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) promotions. Currently he has 12 wins and 5 losses.

Biography

Andreas Krantiotakes was born on December 10, 1981 to a Greek father and a German mother, Always being the biggest kid in class – he now stands at an impressive six‐feet‐three and weighs an athletic 245 pounds – he took up martial arts at a kid’s age already when he started training in judo at age twelve. He remained true to the sport of throws and locks for the next nine years and was very successful as a competitor, winning the Rheinland-Pfalz Judo Championships seven times, the Southern German Judo Championships once as well as placing fifth in the German Judo Championships. Today, he holds the rank of Nikyū (brown belt).

As a certified social education pedagogue, he works with children with a learning disorder. He is also in the process of obtaining his doctor's degree on the subject of martial arts and its effects on society. Because of his appearance and eloquence, Kraniotakes has been used for television appearances and other promotional activity numerous times.[1]
Career

Always looking to advance and progress as a fighter, Big Daddy started training in Western Boxing, Kickboxing and Wing Chun in 2002. As a WT practitioner, he took part in the first ever EBMAS Germany Wing Chun Full Contact Championship in 2005, which was essentially a no holds barred tournament . Big Daddy won the tournament, knocking both of his opponents out in the second round. Hooked on the freedom and the possibilities that came with competing under MMA‐like rules, he intensified his training in MMA and Muay Thai, which he had picked up in 2004 .

In his pro MMA career, Kraniotakes has become one of the aces for the Outsider Cup. He fought four times in North Rhine Westfalia’s flagship event, stopping all of his opponents with punches in the first round .

Kraniotakes' 15th fight took place July 9, at Cage Warriors 43 against English fighter Dave Keeley who outweighed him by 22 pounds . He defeated "The Iron Giant" in the first round via Armbar from the mount.

His next fight took place September 17, in Karlsruhe, Germany. Fighting under the Superior FC promotion banner for the second time, the German native fought Georgian Fighter David Shvelidze and won the fight after Shvelidze tapped out due to punches.

On October 17, 2011, it was announced that he would replace Pedro Rizzo against former UFC Heavyweight Champion Tim Sylvia in the main event of ProElite 2.[2] He lost the fight via unanimous decision.
