1) Acestorides (in Greek Ακεστορίδης; lived 4th century BC), a native of Corinth made supreme commander by the citzens of the Sicilian polis of Syracuse in 317 BC. He was afterwards banished from the city by Agathocles. 1

2) Acestorides,
the author of four books of mythical stories relating to every city (ton kata polin mythikon) In this he gave many real historical accounts, as well as those which were merely mythical, but he entitled them mythika to avoid calumny and to indicate the pleasant nature of the work. It was compiled from Conon, Apollodorus, Protagoras and others (Phot. Bibl. cod. 189, Tzetz. Chil. vii. 144.)
