Sterope, a Calydonian princess as the daughter of King Porthaon and Euryte or Laothoe.[4] She was the sister of Oeneus, Agrius, Melas, Leucopeus, Stratonice and Eurythemiste. Sterope was sometimes said to be the mother of the Sirens by Achelous.
