In Greek mythology, there Polybus, or Pólybos were.

• A Corinthian king, husband of Merope or Periboea, who raised Oedipus, who had been abandoned by his mother, Apollod. 3.5.7
  
• A King of Sicyon, father of Talaus. His successor was his grandson Adrastus. Herodotus. 5.67, according to Pausanias 2.6.6 a son Hermes and Chthonophyle
• A King of Thebes (in Egypt). Menelaus and Helen stayed in his court for a while after the Trojan War.
  
• The name of two suitors of Penelope, from a total of 44 from Zakynthos, Apollod. E.7.29

Sicyon had a daughter Chthonophyle, and they say that she and Hermes were the parents of Polybus. Afterwards she married Phlias, the son of Dionysus, and gave birth to Androdamas. Polybus gave his daughter Lysianassa to Talaus the son of Bias, king of the Argives; and when Adrastus fled from Argos he came to Polybus at Sicyon, and afterwards on the death of Polybus he became king at Sicyon Pausanias 2.6.6

And from Zacynthos came forty--four: Eurylochus, Laomedes, Molebus, Phrenius, Indius, Minis, Liocritus, Pronomus, Nisas, Daemon, Archestratus, Hippomachus, Euryalus, Periallus, Evenorides, Clytius, Agenor, Polybus, Polydorus, Thadytius, Stratius, Phrenius, Indius, Daesenor, Laomedon, Laodicus, Halius, Magnes, Oloetrochus, Barthas, Theophron, Nissaeus, Alcarops, Periclymenus, Antenor, Pellas, Celtus, Periphus, Ormenus, Polybus and Andromedes.
