In Greek mythology , there were two people called Misenus.
A friend of Odysseus mentioned with Baius in Strabo Geography , Book I..
A companion of Hector and, after his death, Aeneas' trumpeter. He challenged Triton in a trumpet contest, who drowned him after Triton won. Cape Misenum was named after him (Aeneid 3.172; 6.224-250).
