Cheirogonia

Cheirogonia (Greek Χειρογονία, from χείρων "hand" and γένεσις "origin") is an epithet of the Greek goddess Persephone.

It is only known from an entry in the lexicon of Hesychius of Alexandria. [1] It was interpreted in classical philology because of Persephone's double position as the goddess of death and fertility as the epithet of Persephone as the goddess of birth, [2] since processes such as sowing and begetting or sowing and giving birth were understood as related ideas in ancient Greece. 3]
