Autophonus (ancient Greek Αὐτόφονος) is a person from Greek mythology.
He appears in the Iliad in an internal narrative by Agamemnon, in which Agamemnon reports of controversies for the throne in Thebes. Autophonus is mentioned here as the father of Polyphontes, who supported Polynices in the fight against his brother Tydeus. [1]
