Agelaus (ancient Greek Ἀγέλαος Agélaos) is a son of the Heraclids Temenus, who ruled over Argos, and brother of Eurypylus, Callias and Hyrnetho. Temenus, prefers his daughter Hyrnetho and her husband Deiphontes to his sons, who then decide to have him assassinated. However, since the army spoke out against them, Deiphontes was appointed as his father-in-law's successor.[1] In a fragmentary variant of the myth of Ephorus, Agelaus does not take part in his brothers' attack.[2]
