Abartus (ancient Greek ᾌβαρτος) is a person from Greek mythology.
Abartus was a descendant of the legendary, according to later tradition, last king of Attica, Codrus. He was called from the cities of Erythrai and Teos by the Phocaeans, together with two other descendants of Codrus, Deoites and Periclus, because the Ionians only intended to accept the city of Phocaea as a member of their covenant if it was ruled by members of the Codrid family. [1] This mythical version was intended to underline the dominant role that Athens played in the settlement of the western Asia Minor region of Ionia.
