NAMA 775. Funerary statue of a Siren. Pentelic marble.

Found in the ancient cemetery of Kerameikos, Athens.
The figure holds a tortoise-shell lyre in her left hand, with the plectrum
in her right hand she will have been striking the chords, formerly of metal,
and lamenting the dead amn. The relief plumage on her legs is characteristic.
The feet and wings have been restored with plaster. 330-320 BC.
