5746 : Male Statue, possibly Achilles

The young beardless male is depicted moving forcefullt to the right. He is ready
to draw the sword from its sheath with the right hand. The strikingly youthful appearanTce
of the heroic figure with his unruly, bushy hair favors his identification as Achilles.
The scultpure must belong to the same statuary group with the statue of Odysseus (no. 5745)
Parian marble. Before the 1st c. B.C.
