3910 Figurine of flutist, of parian marble.

The musician plays the double flute standing firmly
on the ground. A three-dimensional expansion in space is
apparent, placing it, along with the other musician figures
among the master pieces of cycladic sculpture. In cycladic
society the role of musician may have been performed
exclusively by its male members. All known figurines
of musicians depict male figures.
