2774 : Statue of Hermes in the Hermes Richelieu type

The figure rests firmls on its left leg. The relaxed rigt leg also resting
with the entire sole on the plinth. Remains of the himation are preserved on the
left shoulder. The right side of the head, together with the nose, the face and a large
segment of the hair, which were buried in the sediment of the sea bed, are
preserved in exceptionally good condition.
It belongs to the very small group of Late Hellenistic variants of the type, whose
bronze original dates to 360-350 B.C.
