Found at Eleusis. The bust depicts the mythical Eleusinian chthonic hero Eubouleus, brother
of Triptolemos. Eubouleus is associated with the mystery cult at Eleusis. According to tradition
he was a swineheard. When Persephone was abducted by Plouton , he was grazing his herd near
the point wheere the earth opened to receive the god's chariot, and a few of his pigs hell into
the chasm. The episode of the myth is related to the practice of throwing
pigs into subterranean chasm during during the festival of the Skirophoria.
