1775 : Telesphoros, son of Eukarpos. Grave stele. Pentelic marble

Found in Athens. The stele has the form of a naiskos. The name and
age of the dead Telesphoros, son of Eukarpos, of Miletos, are inscribed
on the horizontal cornice of the pediment. In the inscription on the epistyle
the dead man himself speaks in sorrow of his death. Telesphoros is depicted
as a nude hero, holding the reins of his horse. On the pediment a dog
chases a hare. A.D. 170 - 175
