The Vyros gorge (Greek: Φαράγγι του Βυρού), 19 km length, in Peloponnese
It is in the west side of Taygetus, in the Messenian Mani.
History
It was part of the royal road that connected ancient Sparta with the Harbour at Kardamyli.
Mythology
According to Mythology Neoptolemus (known also as Pyrrhus) the son of Achilles traversed the gorge to reach ancient Sparte to marry Hermione , the daughter of Menelaus and Helen of Troy
