Plaka (Πλάκα) Naxos
Plaka is a coastal settlement in western Naxos with 18 inhabitants (2011 census). [1] It is bordered on the north by the beach of Marraga and on the south by Little Vigla.
The beach
The area of the settlement is known for the sandy beach at least 3 km long. After the 90's the improvement of accessibility and development of tourist infrastructure has attracted the international tourist interest. In May 1918, the Guardian included it in the 25 best beaches in Europe. [2] [3]

Administrative changes
In 2001, in the census, the settlement was recognized and annexed to the Municipal District of Vivlos of the municipality of Naxos. [5] [4]
In 2010, with the implementation of the Kallikratis program (law 3852/2010), the municipality of Naxos was abolished and the settlement was annexed to the newly established municipality of Naxos & Small Cyclades. [6]
Today, after the last change of 2010 (Kallikratis program), it constitutes together with the settlement of the Bible (654 k.) The Local Community of the Bible (672 k.). The so-called The book belongs to the Municipal Unit of Naxos, the municipality of Naxos and the Small Cyclades, the regional unit of Naxos (the former prefecture of Cyclades), in the region of South Aegean.
