Pantanassa (Παντάνασσα) Aitoloakarnania
Pantanassa is a lowland settlement of Aitoloakarnania at an altitude of 50 meters [1].
Geography - History
Pantanassa is located on the northern shores of Lake Trichonida and is 14.5 km east of A.-NA. from Agrinio and 15 km D.-BD. from Thermo. The EO of Agrinio - Thermo passes through the village and is between Dogri (A.) and Platanias (NW), from which it is separated by the Kouforema torrent. Its old name is Mandanissa and so it is officially mentioned in 1897 in the Government Gazette 59B - 17/06/1897 to be attached to the municipality of Thermo. In 1912 the homonymous community was founded with its seat in the settlement. It was renamed Pantanassa in 1953 with the Official Gazette 86A - 11/04/1953 [2]. According to the Kallikratis program, it is the local community of Pantanassi that belongs to the municipal unit of Paravola of the municipality of Agrinio and according to the 2011 census it has a population of 531 inhabitants [3].
