Kelanitis (Κελανίτης) Aitoloakarnania

Kelanitis is a semi-mountainous village in the Regional Unit of Aitoloakarnania at an altitude of 250 meters [1], which is located east of the artificial lake of Kastraki and at a distance of 25 km NW. from Agrinio. The village is built along the EO of Agrinio - Karpenisi, between Potamoula (SW) and Avlakies (B.). As a settlement, it is officially mentioned for the first time in 1950 in the Government Gazette 171A - 10/08/1950 to be detached from the then community of Kyparissos and attached to the community of Potamoulas [2]. According to the Kallikratis program, together with Tsounaiika and Potamoula, they constitute the local community of Potamoula that belongs to the municipal unit of Parakambylia of the municipality of Agrinio and according to the 2011 census has a population of 67 inhabitants.
