Gerousaiika is a lowland settlement of the Prefecture of Achaia, it is part of the Local Community of Sagaiika, and according to the "Kallikratis Program" from 1/1/2011 it belongs to the Municipality of Western Achaia [1] [2]. In the period 1997-2010, based on the "Kapodistrias Plan", it belonged to the former Municipality of Movris as part of the former municipal district of Sagaiika [1] [2].
General elements
The name of the settlement is anthroponymic, after the surname of the landowner and raisin merchant Themistocles Gerousis, who in the middle of the 19th century had an exemplary farm in the area [3]. In modern times it is essentially a settlement of the Sagaeans [3], inhabited by a large number of Roma [4].
