Eva is a village in the Municipality of Messina, belongs to the Regional Unit of Messinia [1] and has 483 inhabitants, according to the 2011 Census. [2]
Location
Eva belongs to the Community of Eva and belongs to the Municipal Unit of Androusa, of the Municipality of Messina. It is located at an altitude of 41 meters [3] and is 18 km from Kalamata and 7 km from Messina. The name Eva comes from Mount Eva, at the foot of which the village is built. [4]

Eva is the birthplace of the chiefs of the liberation war of 1821, Dimitris, Ioannis and Panagiotis Papatsonis, the poet and academic Takis Papatsonis, the poet Harry Alexiou, the playwright and writer Nikolaos Zakopoulos (1964) and the set designers Vassilis Fotopoulos (Vassilis Fotopoulos). [5]

07-06-2010, the settlement of Eva is detached from the Municipality of Androusis and annexed to the Municipality of Messina.
