Cotyora was an ancient Greek colony founded around .500 B.C. It was near Ordu ia port city on the Black Sea coast of Turkey
"Ordu" was also the name used for a tent in Turkish and Mongol nomadic tribes. It is from this word that the modern English word "horde" came from, as the nomads traveled in massive groups with a family to each ordu.
Cotyora is mentionen in Xenophon's Anabasis Book 5
Then they accepted the gifts of hospitality, and
marching through what was now recognised as a friendly country, in two
days reached Cotyora, a Hellenic city, and a colony of Sinope, albeit
