Agia Marina, Messinia

The settlement of Agia Marina was recognized in 1971, when it was annexed to the Community of Lada. During the administrative division of Greece with the Kapodistrias Program, from 1998 to 2010, Agia Marina belonged to the Local Department of Lada, of the former Municipality of Kalamata. From 1-1-2011 with the implementation of the Kallikratis Program, the Community of Lada includes the settlement of Agios Vassilios (Siliboves, Agia Marina).
Lada Community

From 31-8-1912 to 31-12-1998, the Lada community was an autonomous community [7] of the Kalamon District of the Prefecture of Messinia, which included the settlement of Agios Vassilios (Siliboves - Agia Marina).

The Community of Ladas was established in 1912 with the detachment of the settlement of Ladas from the Municipality of Alagonia and its definition as the seat of the Community. [8] In 1971 the settlement of Agia Marina was recognized and annexed to the Community of Lada [9] and in 1981 the settlement of Agios Vassilios was recognized, which was also annexed to the Community of Lada. [10] Finally, in 1997, Agia Marina, Agios Vassilios and Ladas were detached from the Community and annexed to the Municipality of Kalamata, with the Kapodistrias Program. The Lada community was abolished in 1999. [11] The administrative course of the settlement follows the parallel development, of the Municipality of Kalamata, with the Kallikratis Program.

In the area of ​​Agia Marina, various mountain sports are held from time to time. Also, between 5-8 June 2014, the 2nd "Horizons Unlimited Travelers Meeting Greece" was held there, which was addressed to traveling motorcyclists. [15]
