Zanatzia (Greek : Ζανατζιά ) is a settlement of Souni-Zanatzia in the District of LimassolZanatzia has been known by the same name since the time of the Frankish occupation, so it probably belonged to a lord named Zane, from whom it took the name Zanatzia. Another version states that it owes its name to the Zanos bird that nests in the area. A third version, which is also the most probable, is that the village owes its name to the plant Zalatzin.
In 1600, during the Turkish occupation, the village was destroyed by the Turks for an unknown reason. It then became a farm of the Hatzipavlou family from Limassol, who created grape plantations resulting in the resettlement of a small number of residents. In Zanatzia, the first small winery of the Hatzipavlou-ETKO house was created, which today functions as a wine warehouse.
Zanatzia is built in a hilly area. The area is divided by the Kouri river system. Vines of wine varieties, cereals, fodder plants and locust beans are grown in the area.
