Stroumpi or Stroumbi (Greek : Στρουμπί ) is a small village in the heart of Paphos District and exactly in the middle of the distance between Paphos and Polis. The name of the village is said to be coming by its founder, a man called "Stroumpos". The village is well known for the annual "Dionysia" wine festival taking place at the end of August named after Dionysos the ancient Greek god of wine.. There is also "Dionysos" volley team that is based in Stroumpi and currently plays in Cyprus's first league.
The former settlement of Stroumbi had been destroyed by an earthquake in 1953 leaving behind many casualties. The village was rebuilt shortly after the disaster in an area adjacent to the original.
