Solomos square (Greek: Πλατεία Σολωμού/Turkish: Solomos Maydanı,Solomos Meydanı), is a square in central Nicosia, Cyprus. It forms the intersection of Rigenis Street and Omirou Avenue. It is the central bus station in Nicosia and it is estimated that over fifty thousand people pass from Solomos Square daily. Solomos square was remodelled in 2010 due to the initiative of former Mayor Eleni Mavrou .
Overview
Nicosia has an organised network of Urban Busses that is managed by the Nicosia Bus Company Ltd. All the bus routes start at the Solomos Square terminal in the centre of the city and cover all the areas of the city. Buses run every 20 to 30 minutes depending on their destination while on weekends they run less frequently.
