Akanthou (Greek : Ακανθού ) is a municipality of the District of Famagusta in the occupied region of Cyprus. The Population before the occupation was entirely Greek Cypriots. In 1973 the population was estimated to be 1294, all had to leave the village and their property after the occupation of the region by the Turkish Army.
