Model of a type of ship used by the Portuguese navigators from the end of the 15th century until the beginnings of the 17th century The caravel was robust and last 20 to 30 meters long with a tonnage of about 50 tons and 2 or 3 lateen rigged masts. One of this type of vessles Berrio was part of the fleet of Vasco de Gama who discovered that maritime route to India No plans of this ship have reached our days. The present models was build from information researched by Portuguese experts on books, sculptures paintings and engravings of the period.
