Johann Heinrich Wilhelm Kretschmer (* December 26, 1806 in Hannover, † April 3, 1897) was a German teacher, draftsman, painter and lithographer. The son of a painter originating from Hameln Kretschmer was born in 1806 in the then independent Calenberger Neustadt. At the age of six years, William became an orphan. He received his first training probably at the Hannover painter Justus Elias box.
From 1830 Kretschmer
studied at the Art Academy in Munich to 1835, back in Hanover,
landscape Hall (destroyed by air raids on Hanover in World War II) of
the line buckle to paint the cycle palaces and castles of the Guelphs.
