Ricardo Verde Rubio (Valencia, July 23, 1876 - 1954) was a Spanish painter.
Biography
He was born on Calle San Ramón nº 5, in the heart of the Carmen neighborhood of Valencia. He was a painter of reclusive and solitary character, being attributed to these peculiarities his little interest by the social life, to attend exhibitions and artistic manifestations, even for exposing his own work.
Soon he began to make portraits and self-portraits, with an obsessive insistence until one and another end up occupying a large portion of his production. His repertoire was extended to all genres, from portraits, still lifes, passing through the landscape and the figure, nudes of classic workmanship inspired by Tiziano, all this without abandoning the sorollista influence that will continue practicing throughout his life. He was professor and academic of the Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos, living between the commissions of portraits and the pedagogy.
