Nikola Ivanov Obrazopisov - Bulgarian artist, painter from Samokov art school was born in 1828
Nicolas Obrazopisov revived painting by turning to folk tradition and Bulgarian landscape and tried to bring them into the church images. His work was a great success because it was publicly available and its clear forms appealed to the people. He was one of the most important painters of the time of spiritual revival of Bulgaria.
Obrazopisov was a master technician. He produced icons and murals in western Bulgaria, Adrianople, Pomoravlje, FYROM and Bosnia.

In 1873 Pirot church "Assumption of the Virgin Mary."
He worked for the Rila Monastery and the surrounding chapels. In the narthex of the church of the Rila Monastery written Judgment and the torment of sinners.
Church convent in Orlitsa and "St.. Luke "at the hermitage.
His frescoes and icons are in Belyova church.
There are frescoes and icons in Lozen monastery "St. Spas" and others.
