Joseph Maximilian Kolb (* before 1818, † after 1859) was a German copper and steel engraver.
His architectural and urban representations are sometimes well known, but little is known about his life.
In 1838 he lived in Nuremberg and exhibited in the city museum. Maybe he was born there too, at least twenty years before.
He is also mentioned as an employee in the graphic studio of Johann Poppel in Munich. Several originals of his prints, as well as such Poppels itself, came from the painter Johann Friedrich Lange.
In the Bavarian capital he participated with a draft drawing in the discussion about the beautification of the Frauenkirche. The Cologne Cathedral he presented together with the completed in 1859 railway and road bridge.
