José Peris Aragó (Alboraia, 21 of August of 1907 - ibídem, 9 of November of 2003) was a Spanish posterist and painter.
Biography
He studied at the School of Arts and Crafts and the Fine Arts School of San Carlos of Valencia; Companion of Renau and Segrelles within the generation that later would be called "artistic renovation Valencian of years 30". At the age of 25 he made his first solo exhibition at the Mercantile Athenaeum of Valencia. He participated in the Valencian Regional Exposition of 1934 and when the Spanish Civil War broke out, he joined the Alliance of Antifascist Intellectuals, actively participating in the production of posters, including the famous "He will not pass it said Madrid and he has fulfilled it They will not pass, says Valencia, and he will do it! "It was finally destined to Section II of Instruction and Mobilization of Albaida.
At the end of the war, he was hired by the film production company Cifesa, for which he designed more than 500 posters between 1945 and 1965. Among them, those dedicated to feature films such as The gitanilla, or La Lola go to the ports , Which would come to be analyzed in important later samples like the Mediterranean Film Show in 2002.2 From the 1950s he dedicated himself to painting. In 1993, the Circle of Fine Arts of Valencia awarded the Gold Medal to the artistic merit of this institution. Part of his work is in the National Museum of Ceramics González Martí. In his native town has a House of Culture that bears his name.
