Karl Friedrich Johannes "Hans" Leitzen (born November 13, 1848 in Stadtoldendorf, Germany) was a German painter and architect. From 1876 to 1917 he was director of the Städtisches Gewerbeschule Braunschweig.
Johannes Leitzen, the son of a physician, graduated from the Gymnasium in Holzminden and then attended the Kunstakademie Wien for a short time. Since 1868 he studied architecture at the Brunswick Collegium Carolinum. He was a voluntary participant in the Franco-German War of 1870-1871. From 1872 to 1874 he worked on the new building of the Collegium Carolinum. He was a master builder in 1878. From 1876 to 1917, he was head of the Braunschweig Municipal Crafts College since 1886, the predecessor of today's College of Fine Arts. In 1899 the professor's title was given to him.
Together with Hans Herse and Constantin Uhde, Leitzen was one of the founders of the social artists' association Feuchter Brush, which had belonged to the author Wilhelm Raabe since 1883.
Leitzen's pupils were Margarethe Raabe.

Leitzen mainly painted in watercolor technique. His motifs were landscapes and views of Braunschweig's old town, which were also printed in 1890 and 1892. A portrait of the archivist Ludwig Hänselmann is preserved. Parts of his work are owned by the Braunschweig Municipal Museum and the Braunschweigisches Landesmuseum.
